Joe Paterno's Dismissal as Head Coach Leads Penn State Fans to Protest Across Campus (Photos)Things got pretty ugly late Wednesday night in Happy Valley, as things were anything but happy on the campus of Penn State.

Literally moments after the school’s board of trustees announced that Joe Paterno had been dismissed as head coach of the school’s football team, students flooded the campus in an instant protest.

Things started peacefully enough with chanting and singing, though slowly but surely the protests turned into what bordered on a riot. In one case, a van was flipped. Reports of rocks being thrown at media and students openly drinking in the streets surfaced throughout the night.
