The Westboro Baptist Church is spewing its hatred once again, and this time, Joe Paterno is the target.

The extreme Independent Baptist church said that it plans to picket the longtime Penn State coach's funeral, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

Shortly after Paterno's death was announced on Sunday, Margie Phelps, daughter of the church's founder, Fred Phelps, sent out a tweet revealing the plant to protest, PennLive.com points out.

She issued the following tweet:

Phelps has since engaged in arguments with many followers, while maintaining the church's stance.

The Westboro Baptist Church — which is based in Topeka, Kan. — also recently threatened to picket outside Beaver Stadium during the Nittany Lions' first game following child sex charges being filed against Jerry Sandusky.

The group recently won a U.S. Supreme Court case, in which it was ruled that the church has the right to protest funerals under the First Amendment.
