Report: Liverpool Opens Contract Talks With Luis Suarez, Star Forward 'Would Like to Stay' With ClubLuis Suarez signed a five and half year contract with Liverpool 14 months ago. But the two sides are already talking about extending the star forward's contract beyond 2016, according to Sky Sports.

"I would like to stay," Sky Sports Suarez told Uruguay's El Pais. "Despite everything that happened, I'm happy here, on and off the pitch … and at the club they're happy with me and want me to stay."

"I have a contract until 2016 and they already want to renew it for me. The coach still believes in me and that's very important, especially after having been out for eight matches."

Recent reports have linked Suarez with a move to free-spending Paris Saint-Germain, but LFC manager Kenny Dalglish dismissed the rumors.

The Uruguayan has taken to life both in the city of Liverpool and at the storied club. Teammates and supporters have embraced him as one of their own since he made a £22.8 million ($35.8 million) move from Ajax in January 2011.

He is Liverpool's leading scorer this season, with 11 goals in 29 games.
