Andrew Ference may not be publicly praised for his leadership as much as someone like Zdeno Chara or Patrice Bergeron, but there is no denying the veteran defenseman's impact on the club.

That's especially true once the playoffs rolls around he's proven, as Ference was one to introduce the Starter jacket last season, presented to the most valuable player in every Bruins win in the playoffs.

He's back at it again this year, but instead of a jacket, Ference has opted for a chain (and padlock) instead, as he preaches the mantra that there can be no weak link.

Chris Kelly was far from the weak link on Thursday night in Game 1 of the Bruins' series with the Capitals where Kelly scored the game-winner in overtime.

He could be seen rocking the chain during postgame news conference.

Check out the video below from the Bruins' website where Ference explains the idea, as well as what it took to make the new playoff trinket.
