Report: Avery Bradley 'Not Even Close' to Returning Before December for CelticsWhen the Celtics sent Ray Allen to the bench last April, they hoped it would mark a permanent move into the starting lineup for Avery Bradley.

Now Allen is gone to the Miami Heat and Bradley may not be ready to return to the court until January, according to an ESPN report. Celtics coach Doc Rivers told ESPN Boston that the 21-year-old shooting guard is "not even close" to returning.

"I don't like to put a time limit on injuries, but I don't think you'll see him before December," Rivers said. "And there's a chance it could be closer to January."

Bradley appeared in 74 regular-season and playoff games for the Celtics and made 28 starts between March 25 and May 18 before being shut down after Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers. He is recovering from surgeries on both shoulders following a series of dislocations in his left shoulder that eventually affected his right shoulder as well.

Courtney Lee, who was acquired to bolster the Celtics' backcourt depth, will likely start at shooting guard during Bradley's absence with Jason Terry, another new acquisition, serving as the sixth man.
