NFL, Victor Cruz Honor Newtown Shooting Victims With Decals, Moment of Silence (Photos)

PatriotsThree weeks in a row now, NFL players have had to suit up on Sunday with heavy hearts.

Following the Chiefs’ and Cowboys’ tragedies, NFL teams are honoring the victims of the Newtown, Conn. shooting on Sunday with helmet decals and a moment of silence before every game. The Patriots will be wearing a helmet decal in their Sunday night game against the 49ers, while the Giants wore one in their loss against the Falcons as well.

The Jets also have plans to wear a helmet decal on Monday night. With Newtown 60 miles from New York City, the tragedy hits closest to home for the Patriots, Giants and Jets.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz chose to honor Jack Pinto, a six-year-old victim, specially with a message on both his cleats and gloves. Cruz found out that Pinto was a big Giants fan.
