Bengals’ Devon Still Records Reunion With Cancer-Stricken Daughter (Video)

It’s been a whirlwind week for Cincinnati Bengals practice squad player Devon Still.

The defensive tackle was in the news earlier in the week when he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad. That’s usually not big news, but Still’s story isn’t a normal one.

Still was signed back to the practice squad so that he’d be able to collect health insurance — and a paycheck — to help pay for medical bills for his 4-year-old daughter, who is suffering from cancer.

“They could have washed their hands with me and said they didn’t care about what I was going through off the field,” he said. “It’s like a blessing in disguise for me.”

Being a practice squad player, Still gets the financial benefits but won’t have to travel as much. That will allow him to be closer to his daughter as she undergoes treatment.

Still was reunited with his daughter on Friday for the first time in about two weeks. The interraction was, as you might expect, awesome.
