The Boston Red Sox and all of baseball bid Derek Jeter farewell Sunday. Joe Kelly did so in a unique way.
The Sox threw Jeter a retirement party prior to Sunday’s game, and that pregame ceremony included members of the team greeting Jeter on the field. Kelly — who faced Jeter on Saturday afternoon — brought his cell phone out to the diamond with him.
When it was Kelly’s turn to greet Jeter, he did what a lot of people would do — he got a selfie with the New York Yankees legend. It was a pretty cool idea, but it was Kelly’s wife, Ashley, who stole the show with her tweet shortly after the ceremony.
