9:24 a.m.: Wes Welker is ready to go. According to ProFootballTalk citing a league source, the Denver Broncos wide receiver has “no limits or restrictions” as he returns to the gridiron for the Super Bowl rematch.

After missing the first two games of the season, Welker was reinstated by the league earlier this week, and it appears the suspension gave him sufficient time to recover from yet another concussion — this one coming in the third game of the preseason.

9:11 a.m.: Arian Foster is a “longshot” to play against the New York Giants today.

8:35 a.m.: It was expected that Jamaal Charles would miss at least some time, but that might not be the case. The Kansas City Chiefs running back, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2, is a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, per ProFootballTalk.

8:28 a.m.: The 49ers will also be without a key player today. Vernon Davis (bruised ankle) didn’t practice Wednesday and he was on crutches until Thursday is “doubtful” to play against the Arizona Cardinals.

8:10 a.m.: Week 2 was a brutal one for teams and players across the board, as the injuries piled up game after game.

With many big names suffering big injuries, the injury report seems to just keep getting longer. In Week 2 we say Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III suffer a dislocated left ankle just minutes into the game that could end his season. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green suffered a turf toe injury on the team’s opening drive and did not return to the game, but the good news is he’s expected to play Sunday.

Meanwhile Knowshon Moreno, who had a monster game Week 1 against the New England Patriots, dislocated his left elbow in a gruesome injury and he is expected to miss a month. Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles all suffered various injuries of their own.

So who will be suiting up and who will be sitting this week out? We’ll keep you updated on the latest injury news, so be sure to check back throughout the day.
