Former NBA guard Rex Chapman was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing $14,000 worth of Apple products from a store in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Chapman, 46, was stopped by police in northeast Scottsdale and taken into custody. He is being held on nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking stolen property.

Police report that Chapman stole the products over seven different instances in the past few months. Chapman made it look as though he was using the store’s self-checkout and then left without paying for the items — which makes you wonder why an Apple store has a self-checkout option.

Reportedly, Chapman sold the items he stole at local pawn shops for cash.

Chapman was a star at Kentucky before being picked by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the 1988 draft. He played for four teams over a span of 12 years before retiring in 2000.
