rob gronkowski“Dancing With The Stars” certainly isn’t a sport in the traditional sense of the word. But athletes somehow have a knack for coming out on top.

Since the show debuted in 2005, eight of the 17 champions have been men or women best known for their exploits on the field, ice, track, etc.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones parlayed his touchdown celebrations into a “DWTS” appearance — and a third-place finish — in 2013, and this season’s cast, which will be announced Thursday on “Good Morning America,” reportedly includes two-sport Olympian Lolo Jones, MMA star-turned-actor Randy Couture and NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip.
