After bursting onto the scene with a breakout performance in Super Bowl XLVII, Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones now plans to follow in the footsteps of such NFL greats as Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and Hines Ward.
The wideout will be a contestant on the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, the network announced during a commercial break in the Academy Awards on Sunday night. Jones, who showed off his dancing skill during his touchdown celebrations in New Orleans, will become the 11th NFL player to compete on the show.
He’ll have quite the reputation to uphold, as three players — Smith, Ward and Donald Driver — took home the title in past seasons while Rice, Warren Sapp and Jason Taylor all took home second place. Jones will also be the least decorated NFLer to take the stage, as all 10 previous contestants had multiple Pro Bowls under their belts (Jones’ selection in 2012 was his first).
