The NFL kicked off its first major slate of games Sunday, so we’re guessing Houston Rockets guard James Harden wasn’t expecting to hear his name mentioned.
It appears, however, that some jokes are just too good to pass up. And boy, was this a good one.
The Dallas Cowboys’ much-maligned defense gave up 28 points in the first half en route to a Week 1 drubbing by the San Francisco 49ers. Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson saw this horrible display of defense as an opportunity to take a hilarious shot at Harden’s own defensive struggles on Instagram.
“Cowboys defensive coordinator #Rp,” the caption read.
The hashtag “#rp” stands for “repost,” which means Lawson didn’t actually think of the post himself. Still, the fact that Lawson took the chance to take a direct shot at a rival player in his own conference is pretty awesome.
