BzhP.ftCQAAi_8JThe Boston Brawlers lost their inaugural game as the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) debuted Wednesday night.

The Brawlers visited the Omaha Mammoths for a game that ended up being a very one-sided affair. The Mammoths beat Boston 41-18, handing them a loss to begin the six-week schedule of FXFL’s first ever season.

For those unaware, the league’s purpose is to serve as a developmental league for football players looking to showcase their talents to the NFL. The league includes former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd and New England Patriots 2014 sixth round pick Jon Halapio, a guard out of Florida.

Boston’s newest team is one of the “Original 4” for the league, which also includes the Mammoths, Brooklyn Bolts and Florida Blacktips.

Boston hits the road again for its next game on Oct. 15 against the Bolts. The Brawlers’ home opener is set to take place Oct. 24 at Harvard Stadium against the Blacktips. They round up their short schedule with another home game against the Bolts on Oct. 31 and a Nov. 5 rematch against the Mammoths.
