DeMarcus Cousins Reminds Himself To Limit Technical Fouls This Year (Photo)

Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins has racked up 59 (!) technical fouls in his short four-year career. That’s an average of almost 15 per season.

In the last two years, he’s been suspended twice for compiling at least 16 technicals in a season.

There might be hope, though.

With training camp underway, Cousins felt like it would be a good time to set a new goal for himself — cut down on the T’s.

He’s not exactly going cold turkey, but at least he recognizes that his actions are a detriment to his team and he’s willing to make a change.

Cutting down technical fouls by nearly 200 percent requires habitual changes, which can be difficult for anybody with a temper. That said, Cousins showed at the end of last season that change is possible.

In his last 21 games, Cousins got T’d up only once and averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds on 52 percent shooting during that span.

It’ll be interesting to see if the hothead can cool down once the season starts.
