Being an NBA star has its perks.
Aside from being paid millions for playing basketball, they can stumble upon an opportunity to fly on a private jet to Las Vegas with actor Al Pacino.
That’s what happened to Paul Pierce this summer.
The 2008 NBA Finals MVP was on ESPN 980 in D.C. on Wednesday and explained how he even had the opportunity to do so.
“I was scheduled to go check out his show out in Vegas, and it just so happens the day I was leaving, he was leaving,” Pierce said. “So my host called me and asked me did I want to fly with Al and go to the show, and it was perfect timing.
“So me and a couple of my friends, we had a chance to get on a plane, meet him, talk to him. He’s a cool dude, down-to-earth dude. You wouldn’t believe how down to earth he is. Shared a couple of stories with him. He loves basketball, he said he followed my career out in Boston and everywhere. So it was fun.”
Pierce posted an Instagram photo of his flight with Pacino two months ago. Nothing like two “bosses chillin” with cheese, crackers and a fine assortment of fruits.
