Joique BellJoique Bell filled Reggie Bush’s shoes quite well Sunday, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Detroit Lions’ 17-3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

But his biggest highlight came after the game in an emotional interview, where he passionately talked about pep talks he has with his mother before every game that give him motivation and energy.

“I said, ‘Mom, we believe in each other,’ and she said, ‘As long as you believe in each other, and we put God first, we were going to come out on top,'” Bell said.

“(I have) a lot of pep talks (with my mom),” Bell added. “Me and my mom pray before every single game. We don’t miss a game. If we don’t talk on the phone she leaves it on my voicemail. I listen to my voicemail before every game, or I talk to her personally.”

With so much that’s wrong with NFL players these days, it’s a breath of fresh air to see someone share a touching bond he has with his mother.
