Super BowlIf an NFL team wants to host the country’s most-watched sporting event, they’re going to have to make some concessions.

The Sports Business Journal reports that the NFL will now require teams that host the Super Bowl to play one of their home games in London as part of the NFL International Series.

It’s uncertain when the rule will be implemented, but teams will have a five-year window to give up their home game and play in London.

If the rule goes into effect next season, this would mean the San Francisco 49ers would have to play one of their home games in London sometime over the next five years.

The NFL already requires Super Bowl hosts to let the league control all ticket sales, including revenues from suites. The NFL also uses 35,000 parking spaces for free and has the team hotels televise NFL Network for one year leading up to the big game.

The NFL will give one perk to teams hosting games in London, though. They will add an additional $1 million to the revenue the host loses from giving up a home game.
