Kansas City Royals fans had been dreaming about a night like Tuesday night for 29 long years, but apparently one poor sap forgot to wake up from his dream.

While Kauffman Stadium was absolutely rocking during the bottom of the 12th inning of the winner-takes-all wild card game against the Oakland Athletics, a Kansas City fan sitting behind home plate was taking a little snooze. Sure, it was late, and it’s actually a little impressive he was able to sleep through all of the madness that was going on around him, but come on, buddy. Be better.

The fan missed the stadium exploding with cheers when the Royals rallied for the third and final time, as Eric Hosmer blasted a triple off the top of the fence in left-center field. Hosmer scored the tying run one batter later, and then of course Kansas City completed the unbelievable comeback later in the inning, advancing to the American League Division Series with a 9-8 win.

Fortunately, 99.9 percent of the Royals fans were loud and proud until the winning run scored, but hopefully one of them woke up our pal for the celebration that’s been a long time coming.
