Two very similar plays ended very differently Sunday.
Cleveland Browns defensive end Billy Winn used two opponents to leap frog the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive line, then succeeded in swatting away a field-goal attempt early in the first quarter at FirstEnergy Stadium.
St. Louis Rams linebacker Daren Bates must’ve heard about Winn’s success because he had the same idea later in the day — he just didn’t execute it with the same finesse. He did succeed in jumping over the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive line, but the leap was poorly timed, so he was flagged for being offside.
