Aaron Rodgers: God Doesn’t Care About The Outcome Of Football Games

Russell Wilson believes the Seattle Seahawks’ NFC Championship Game win was God’s work, but opposing quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t exactly see it that way.

The Green Bay Packers star appeared on his weekly ESPN Milwaukee radio show Tuesday, and a listener named Melissa posed a question about athletes giving God credit for their accomplishments. Melissa said that “with all the chaos in the world, (she’s) not sure God really cares about the outcome of a game or an awards show” and asked Rodgers for his take.

“I agree with her,” Rodgers said, per The Big Lead. “I don’t think God cares a whole lot about the outcome. He cares about the people involved, but I don’t think he’s a big football fan.”

While it might seem as though Rodgers was taking a dig at Wilson, he never was directly asked about the Seahawks’ quarterback. Not to mention, Rodgers is religious himself, although he’s not as outspoken about it as other NFL players.

So while Wilson gave God all the credit Sunday, it appears the Packers’ defense won’t get off easy with Rodgers.
