Lions Send Condolences To Cowboys After Refs Overturn Dez Bryant Catch

The Dallas Cowboys lost a game Sunday on a controversial no-catch ruling. The Detroit Lions know the feeling.

When Dez Bryant’s fourth-down catch against the Green Bay Packers was overturned after a video review, it immediately called to mind Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who had a potential game-winning touchdown catch wiped away in 2010 when referees determined he had not maintained possession all the way to the ground.

The Lions saw the similarities, too, and tweeted their condolences to the Dallas faithful.

In a strange coincidence, referee Gene Steratore was the man responsible for both calls.

The latter turned possession back over to the Packers with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s divisional-round playoff game. Green Bay was able to run out the clock and claim a 26-21 win, earning them a spot opposite the Seattle Seahawks in next Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
