The Boston Red Sox announced several signings Friday.

The Red Sox have signed right-handed pitchers Mitchell Boggs and Miguel Celestino, as well as infielder Jeff Bianchi and catcher Luke Montz. Each player was signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

Boggs, whose deal with the Red Sox was reported earlier this week, didn’t pitch in the majors in 2014, but he has had success at the big league level. He posted a 3.08 ERA in 190 relief appearances spanning 201 1/3 innings from 2008 through 2010 while with the St. Louis Cardinals. The 30-year-old’s best season came in 2012, when he posted a 2.21 ERA and 1.05 WHIP over 78 appearances spanning 73 1/3 innings with the Cards.

Celestino, 25, has been in the Red Sox organization since 2010. He posted a 3.98 ERA over 52 innings split between Triple-A Pawtucket and Double-A Portland last season.

Bianchi played in 162 major league games with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2012 through 2014. The 28-year-old can play second base, shortstop and third base. He owns a .216 average and .251 on-base percentage in 402 career major league plate appearances.

Montz has appeared in 23 major league games with the Washington Nationals (2008) and Oakland Athletics (2013). The 31-year-old played in just 14 minor league games last season because of shoulder surgery.
