Andres Guardado finally has found a suitable home away from home, and he wants to stay.

Guardado said Wednesday he is enjoying his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven so much he wants parent club Valencia to sell him to the Dutch club this summer, according to Voetbal International.

“From the moment I arrived in Eindhoven, I noticed the people love me,” Guardado said after practicing with Mexico’s national team in Los Angeles. “I want to play for PSV for a long time. It’s not me. I hope Valencia sells me to PSV.”

“At PSV I am experiencing the best period of my career. I get a lot of respect from the fans. I want to live in Eindhoven, become a champion and a better player. I want to stay at PSV.”

Guardado initially fell out of favor at Valencia in early 2014, and a loan to German club Bayer Leverkusen in the second half of last season further dented his European soccer prospects.

But Guardado has experienced a renaissance since joining PSV last summer. The Mexican international has played 29 games (in all competitions) for PSV, the runaway leader in the Eredivisie (Netherlands’ first division). PSV fans adore him for his role in helping their team (presumably) win their first title since 2008, and the feeling is mutual.

Guardado’s contract with Valencia expires after next season, meaning PSV should have enough funds to purchase the 28-year-old midfielder and keep him around for a few more years.
