James Rodriguez, Fabio Coentrao Attempt Comical Double Throw-In (GIF)

James Rodriguez did something sacred Wednesday in Real Madrid’s win over Almeria. He, along with teammate Fabio Coentrao, also did something utterly profane.

Rodriguez and Coentrao simultaneously attempted to take a throw-in during the first half of Real Madrid’s 3-0 win. The two Real Madrid players were just yards apart but didn’t notice the other doing the same thing.

Real Madrid’s 41st-minute synchronized throw-in drew laughs from all corners of the soccer world, but James overshadowed the gaffe by scoring a jaw-dropping goal three minutes later.

Real Madrid didn’t need any funny business to defeat Almeria. It now trails Barcelona by just two points in the La Liga (Spanish first division) standings with four games remaining.

The lighthearted moment between Coentrao and James reminds us it’s all right to have a laugh in the “business end” of the season.
