Craftiness won over height Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

After battling for a loose ball in the paint, Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo and Thunder forward Mitch McGary were matched up for a jump ball. The 6-foot-10 McGary stands a full nine inches taller than Rondo, so rather than try to outjump the big man, the former Boston Celtic instead decided to outsmart him.

When the referee tossed the ball up, Rondo backed away — right into McGary’s passing lane. He then corralled the ball and fired it downcourt, setting up an easy dunk for teammate Chandler Parsons.

The highlight came during a thrilling win for the Mavericks, who withstood yet another Russell Westbrook triple-double to knock off the Thunder 135-131. Rondo finished with 10 points and 10 assists in the game, and Parsons chipped in with 22 points, six assists and four rebounds.
