Michael Lorenzen and his family have a memorable piece of video forever, though the pitcher might not want to revisit it for a while.

The Cincinnati Reds rookie made his major league debut Wednesday versus the Milwaukee Brewers, and it went well enough. Lorenzen allowed three runs on eight hits over five innings, but he did take the loss.

It was a big day for him and his family, especially his mom. Just after getting the call-up, Lorenzen raved to reporters about the impact his mother had on his life. During the second inning of his start Wednesday, Cheryl Lorenzen was interviewed during the Reds’ telecast.

Just one look at Cheryl, and you could tell it was one of the best days of her life. Her good mood wouldn’t be undone, even by seeing her son give up a home run, which is exactly what happened — during the interview.

Again, one little home run (or three, which Lorenzen allowed in the start) probably isn’t going to rain on the Lorenzens’ parade.
