The New England Patriots could use consecutive first-round draft picks on prospects with busted knees.

The Patriots selected defensive tackle Dominique Easley, who missed most of his senior season at Florida with a torn ACL, with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, and now they’re reportedly showing interest in Georgia running back Todd Gurley.

Gurley tore his left ACL in November but “checked out” at the NFL Scouting Combine recheck Saturday, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported over the weekend.

Gurley will come to New England on a pre-draft visit with the Patriots this week, CSNNE’s Mike Giardi reported Friday.

Gurley is expected to be a first-round draft pick and the first running back off the board in the 2015 NFL draft. The 6-foot-1, 222-pound back ran for 911 yards on 123 carries in six games last season with nine touchdowns. He caught 12 passes for 57 yards.

Gurley ran for 3,285 yards in 30 career games on 510 carries with 36 scores. He also caught 65 passes for 615 yards with six touchdowns and returned 11 kicks for 422 yards with two scores.
