While it’s difficult to calculate the odds of catching a foul ball at a Major League Baseball game, many agree that they end up landing somewhere around 1 in 1,000. But one fan at Chase Field shattered those odds.

At Monday’s Washington Nationals-Arizona Diamondbacks game, a fan wearing an Ernie Banks jersey managed to grab not one, but two foul balls in the top of the ninth inning. And he did it during one at-bat from Nats shortstop Ian Desmond.

Sure, it’s easier to catch a ball when there aren’t too many other fans in your section, but it’s still pretty incredible that both foul balls landed in basically the exact same spot.

The D-Backs, on the other hand, weren’t as lucky, as they fell to Washington 11-1.
