Philippe Coutinho’s soccer talent undoubtedly has earned him prizes in the past, but few are as meaningful as those he won this week at the Echo Arena.

Coutinho told LiverpoolFC.com on Wednesday the four honors he won the previous night at the Liverpool Players’ Awards ceremony are special to him because they come from those who watch him closest. Coutinho was voted both Liverpool’s Fans’ Player of the Year (in an online poll) and Players’ Player of the Year (by a ballot of his teammates), as well as earning Goal of the Year and Performance of they Year awards (also by fans’ votes).

“It’s very important for me because these awards were chosen by my fellow teammates and the supporters,” Coutinho said, according to Liverpoolfc.com. “My teammates are the people I work with all year round, so being recognized by them makes it an important award for me which I treasure a lot.”

Coutinho also described his award-winning, long-range strike against Southampton on Feb. 22  in glowing terms.

“I loved that goal, and it was probably my most beautiful goal of the season,” Coutinho said.

Coutinho has blossomed into a present-day Liverpool star and the Brazilian will try to deliver silverware to Anfield in the future. If Coutinho manages to do so, he might want to consider building a bigger trophy cabinet and penning a few more acceptance speeches.
