Rodriguez has not been officially called up at this time.

The 22-year-old is 4-3 with a 2.98 earned run average, 44 strikeouts and seven walks in 48 1/3 innings for the PawSox this season. He was acquired by the Red Sox in the Andrew Miller trade with the Baltimore Orioles last July.

The Red Sox’s starting pitchers enter Wednesday’s action with a 5.10 ERA as a group, the worst in the American League. Rodriguez has pitched well for Pawtucket and is deserving of an opportunity to show what he can do in the major leagues.
