Some Liverpool fans aren’t happy with Raheem Sterling.

Sterling reportedly was booed by fansĀ at the Liverpool’s Players’ Awards ceremony on Tuesday at the Echo Arena, according to Sky Sports and The Liverpool Echo.

Sterling was delivering his acceptance speech after winning the Young Player of the Year Award when someone interrupted by yelling “stay, Raheem.” Other fans responded by booing and heckling Sterling, who walked off the stage after thanking his teammates.

The award ceremony took place on day after reports claiming Sterling will refuse to sign a new contract with Liverpool and will demand a transfer to another club this summer emerged in the media.

Sterling and his agent will hold showdown talks with Liverpool officials this week. Liverpool and Sterling presumably will make their positions on his future clear at the meeting.

A portion of the 3,000 fans in attendance at the Liverpool’s Players’ Awards ceremony have made their feelings on Sterling clear.
