FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots’ star receiver disappeared early in Day 5 of training camp.

Julian Edelman was out in full pads Tuesday, then left for the practice bubble after warmups. Edelman appeared to get banged up during Sunday’s training camp session.

Wideout Brian Tyms was injured during an individual contact drill and was carted off the field with what appeared to be a right arm injury. His arm was being held by trainers as he left the field.

Defensive tackle Joe Vellano and offensive lineman Marcus Cannon were newly absent for practice. Tight end A.J. Derby and running back Tyler Gaffney also were missing.

Quarterback Matt Flynn, offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann and defensive tackle Alan Branch remain on the non-football injury list and did not participate in practice. Wide receivers Matthew Slater and Brandon LaFell, linebackers Dane Fletcher and Chris White, offensive lineman Ryan Wendell and defensive tackle Chris Jones remain on PUP and didn’t practice.

New signees linebackers L.J. Fort, Cameron Gordon, fullback Eric Kettani and defensive tackle A.J. Pataiali’i practiced. Fort wore No. 46, Gordon wore No. 45, Kettani wore No. 34 and Pataiali’i wore No. 64.
