Petr Cech’s and Arsenal’s 2015-16 season never was supposed to unfold this way, but Cech and the other Gunners must live in the real world, instead of one depicted on the big screen.
Cech endured a home debut to forget Sunday, as his goalkeeping errors consigned Arsenal to a 2-0 loss to West Ham. Many expect Cech, a £10 million ($15.5 million) summer acquisition from Chelsea, to lead Arsenal into contention for the Premier League title, but the veteran goalkeeper was at fault on Cheikhou Kouyate’s goal near the end of the first half and Mauro Zarate’s goal early in the second period.
Cech, 33, used Twitter after the game to express his sadness at how his 2015-16 season opener turned out.
