Julian Edelman scored the New England Patriots’ first touchdown in their Sunday night grudge match with the Indianapolis Colts, but he emerged from the end zone looking a bit worse for wear.

The wide receiver absorbed a heavy hit from Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson just as he crossed the goal line, and NBC cameras a short time later showed him with his right glove removed.

The visual was, um, a little gross.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald was quick to point out that Edelman’s funky-looking finger was not a new development, but the wideout did not seem like himself after his touchdown catch.

Edelman remained in the game but dropped two passes over the Patriots’ next two drives, with the second resulting in a pick-six for Colts safety Mike Adams.
