Liverpool trio Simon Mignolet, Christian Benteke and Divock Origi are on top of the world after helping the Belgium national team claim the No. 1 spot in FIFA’s global rankings.

Mignolet and Origi both featured as Belgium beat Israel 3-1 on Tuesday to win its Euro 2016 qualifying group and move to the summit of the world rankings for the first time.

The Belgians were third in the standings at the start of the month, but with deposed leaders Argentina losing at home to Ecuador and Germany defeated in Ireland this week, Marc Wilmots’ side are now top of the pile.

Reds goalkeeper Mignolet was delighted with the achievement and tweeted:

Belgium, who was as low as 66th in the rankings in 2009, reached the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup and have enjoyed a successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign to help boost its standing.

Mignolet has started each of the last two qualifying games for Belgium, while Origi has featured in seven out of 10, and Benteke, despite injuries, has made five appearances en route to France 2016.
