Boston College will not achieve bowl eligibility this season after six straight losses, but the Eagles can still play spoiler when they take on Notre Dame at Fenway Park on Saturday as 16-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Eagles return to action following last weekend’s bye, riding a six-game straight-up losing streak that has dropped them to the basement in the ACC Atlantic Division with an 0-7 SU conference record.

Overall, the Eagles are 3-7 SU on the year with just one of those victories coming against an FBS opponent, a 17-14 Week 4 win over the Northern Illinois Huskies.

They have tallied 17 points just once since then, picking up the win against the spread in a 34-17 loss to Clemson and averaging just 9.3 points per game during their current losing streak.

Saturday night’s Eagles vs. Fighting Irish betting matchup at Fenway Park is technically a home game for Notre Dame, part of its annual Shamrock Series.

But the contest will be no party for the Irish, who need a big win to remain in control of their own destiny in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Notre Dame is coming off a 28-7 win over Wake Forest, the second of three consecutive dates with ACC opponents, but failed to cover as 28-point favorites, dropping it to 1-2 ATS in its last three and 2-3 ATS as double-digit chalk this season.

The Fighting Irish have also come up short at the sportsbooks in recent meetings with Boston College, going 1-4 ATS in their last five matchups according to the OddsShark College Football Database, with the point total playing UNDER in each of their last six.

In other ACC Week 12 action, North Carolina can clinch the ACC Coastal Division with a win when they visit the Virginia Tech Hokies as six-point chalk. The Tar Heels have won nine straight, and maintain slim CFP hopes if they can win out in their final two regular season dates and get past Clemson in the ACC Championship Game.

The undefeated Tigers host the Demon Deacons on Saturday as 29-point chalk before battling South Carolina next weekend in their annual Palmetto Bowl grudge match.

Pittsburgh will try to close the gap on UNC this weekend when it hosts the Louisville Cardinals as two-point favorites. The Panthers need victories in their final two outings combined with a pair of Tar Heels losses to claim the Coastal Division title.
