The first 2015 College Football Playoff Committee rankings are here, and so is the controversy.

Clemson was ranked first, followed by LSU, defending champion Ohio State and Alabama, respectively.

Just missing out on the top four were No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 6 Baylor, No. 7 Michigan State, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Iowa and No. 10 Florida.

Memphis was the highest ranked Group of Five team at No. 13.

The final rankings will be released on Dec. 6. The final top four teams will play in the semifinals — the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl — on New Year’s Eve. The winners will then play in the national championship on Jan. 11, 2016, at University of Phoenix Stadium.
