Eagles Offensive Linemen Rip Greg Hardy After Overtime Win Over Cowboys

If the Dallas Cowboys weren’t going to do anything about Greg Hardy, the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line had no problems putting him in his place.

Hardy was at the forefront of another mess entering the Cowboys’ Week 9 matchup with the Eagles after Deadspin obtained police photos of Hardy’s ex-girlfriend, the alleged victim of Hardy’s abuse. The photos were predictably awful and led to some calling for the Cowboys to cut ties with Hardy.

That, of course, didn’t happen, as the Cowboys insisted on keeping the former All-Pro defensive end. That decision ticked off several Eagles offensive linemen who made it their mission to make Hardy suffer Sunday night.

“There are three (types) of people I have zero respect for in this world: It’s people who hit women, people who molest children, and rapists,” Eagles center Jason Kelce told reporters after the game, an Eagles overtime win, per the Philadelphia Daily News. “I’m glad he didn’t have a good day. …

“I don’t know. I think it’s a joke a guy like that is able to play this quickly.”

The charges against Hardy were eventually dropped, but he was suspended 10 games by the NFL. That 10-game ban was then reduced to four games by an arbitrator.

So again, the Eagles took matters into their own hands, with someone like tackle Lane Johnson making sure he took it to Hardy when he could.

“Any time I got a chance to put a little extra mustard on a block, I tried,” Johnson said. “He wasn’t all that emotional in the game. I don’t know if the stuff got to him on the news, but he seemed out of it a little bit.”

Most importantly for the Eagles, they did get the win, a huge divisional victory on the road against a rival. In the process, they caused the Cowboys’ losing streak to reach six games, including all four games since Hardy’s returned.
