Jamie Collins didn’t practice for the New England Patriots on Wednesday, but the linebacker reportedly is feeling better.

Collins “got over the virus” that kept him out of action in Weeks 9 and 10, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday. Collins “could be back” for the Patriots’ Week 11 matchup with the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, according to Rapoport, but that “hinges on gaining back weight (and) strength.”

It didn’t appear Collins had returned to the Patriots’ facility Wednesday, since his chair was still propped against his locker.

Collins first was placed on the injury report with the illness Nov. 7. He hasn’t practiced since and missed the Patriots’ wins over the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. Linebackers Jonathan Freeny and Jerod Mayo have filled in for Collins alongside starter Dont’a Hightower.

Collins has 51 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks and three forced fumbles in seven games this season.
