The folks who made the Washington Nationals’ 2016 calendar had a little accident.
Listen, it happens to the best of us. So we won’t give anyone too much flak. But does this look like Nationals Park?
Of course not. It’s Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Anyone who knows anything about Major League Baseball can tell you that.
The Fenway photo inadvertently popped up in the Nats’ calendar, though, and the Internet — admittedly a cruel place — took the mishap and ran with it, prompting a statement from MLB.
The statement, per USA TODAY Sports: “Our licensee used an incorrect photo in its 2016 Nationals calendar, a product that the Nationals were not involved in producing. We are working quickly to rectify the situation including recalling the calendars from retail.”
Like we said, no biggie. It seems like a minor mistake, albeit a funny one, especially when you consider how poorly the Nationals played at Fenway Park early in the 2015 season.
