There’s been plenty of outrage over Greg Hardy, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys over the last few days, but is that really going to change anything?
The Cowboys, specifically Jones, have been under fire since Friday, when Deadspin released a report containing photos of Hardy’s ex-girlfriend, the woman he was accused of beating last year. The horrible photos documented the bruising and physical toll Nicole Holder took in the alleged beating.
Despite the shocking images, which only corroberated the story most people already believed anyway, Jones and the Cowboys stuck by Hardy and continued to support the defensive end. That upset many, including ESPN’s Wendi Nix. However, she thinks the biggest way to send a message to Jones is by using what he knows best: money.
Nix called on sponsors of the Cowboys and football fans to send their own message in an attempt to hurt Jones where it hurts the most: in his checkbook.
