Abby Wambach Receives Rousing Standing Ovation In Final Soccer Game (Videos)

Abby Wambach said goodbye to professional soccer Wednesday night.

When the legendary U.S. player was substituted in the 70th minute of Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to China, the fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans gave Wambach a rousing ovation.

Wambach, 35, retires with an international soccer-record 184 goals in 252 games for Team USA. She addressed the crowd following the conclusion of Wednesday’s game, thanking her family, friends and fans for their support.

She’ll be missed.
