To say Jose Aldo’s knockout loss was shocking might be an understatement.

The 29-year-old former UFC featherweight champion hadn’t lost in over 10 years and was the only official champion the division had ever known.

That changed in 13 seconds Saturday night, when Conor McGregor took down Aldo with a knockout blow — and took the belt with him.

While it was far from a guarantee that Aldo would defeat McGregor, it certainly was a surprise how the Irishman achieved victory. The reaction from one of Aldo’s coaches says it all.

The knockout was the first loss of that variety for Aldo.
