Report: Keyshawn Johnson Not Returning To ESPN After 2015 NFL Season

It appears a shakeup is coming at ESPN.

Keyshawn Johnson will not be returning to ESPN after his contract expires at the end of the NFL season, according to SI.com. Johnson joined the network in 2007 after wrapping up anĀ 11-year NFL career.

SI.com’s Richard Deitsch speculates that Johnson, whose ESPN contract won’t be renewed, could be a candidate for the NFL Network or FOX Sports after leaving his current employer. Johnson has plenty of experience, most notably on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown,” so he’ll likely land on his feet.

Johnson, who was drafted No. 1 overall in 1996, carved out a successful career on the gridiron. The former wide receiver earned three Pro Bowl selections and won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2002 season.

ESPN will have other decisions to make over the next couple of years, as the contracts of Chris Berman and analyst Mike Ditka reportedly are believed to expire after the 2016 NFL season.
