Tom Brady took some time Sunday to remember an old friend.
The New England Patriots quarterback posted a tribute to his late coach and mentor, Tom Martinez, who died Feb. 22, 2012, of a heart attack. Martinez, who coached at the College of San Mateo, worked with Brady for over 20 years.
As is evident from his post, Brady considers Martinez to be a huge part of how he got to where he is. Brady’s father, Tom Brady Sr., even told ESPN.com’s Mike Reiss back in 2012 that “without Tom Martinez, there never would have been a Tom Brady with the New England Patriots.”
