Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield Hits Halfcourt Game-Winner That Doesn’t Count (Video)

Buddy Hield is a very good college basketball player. He’ll likely be a lottery pick in this June’s NBA Draft, and very likely could become an excellent NBA player, too.

But all of that greatness wasn’t enough to help Hield propel his Oklahoma Sooners, the No. 6 team in the country, into the Big 12 tournament finals. The West Virginia Mountaineers held Hield in check Friday — following his 39-point outburst on Thursday — to the tune of six points on 1 of 8 shooting.

Ultimately, though, officials ruled that Hield didn’t get his miracle shot off in time, allowing WVU to advance to the Big 12 title game against Kansas.
