Bill Belichick turned 64 years old Saturday. The New England Patriots head coach celebrated the occasion the only way he knows how: With a certain degree of awkwardness.
Look, Belichick is one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. The man’s a football genius. But he’s not exactly the most outgoing person, especially when it comes to social media. So it’s no wonder his attempt to thank everyone for their birthday wishes via Instagram ended up being unintentionally hilarious.
Belichick’s girlfriend, Linda Holliday, posted the video on her personal Instagram account, as the Pats coach probably doesn’t know what Instagram is, let alone have his own account. It shows Belichick way too close to the camera and features a reference to The Beatles, all before the video abruptly ends.
Good stuff, Bill. Happy belated B-Day, although we’ll just assume it wasn’t quite as good as your 48th birthday. That, after all, was one for the books.
