Is Former Giants Coach Tom Coughlin Itching To Make Coaching Comeback?

Tom Coughlin has nearly 50 years of coaching experience and is pushing 70 years old, but that’s not stopping him from wanting to continue coaching.

The former New York Giants head coach told Peter King of TheMMQB.com that a return to a coaching position in 2017 is something he’d welcome with open arms.

That said, Coughlin said he understands that his age might be a deterrent in landing a job.

“The 70-year-old-man stuff will be a factor,” Coughlin said. “I’m sure they’ll know this would be a three- or four-year thing.”

Coughlin spent 15 seasons coaching the Giants, but unceremoniously parted ways with the team after the 2015 season. Despite the rocky split, Coughlin had only positive words for his experience in New York.

“I’m disappointed how it ended, but I had a lot of great times there,” Coughlin told King. “I’ll be rooting for them every time they play.”

Coughlin’s name was linked with the Philadelphia Eagles back in January before he withdrew his name from consideration.
