The Boston Red Sox’s top prospect is moving through the ranks.

The Red Sox promoted Yoan Moncada to Double-A Portland on Sunday night after a successful campaign in High-A Salem. The 21-year-old Cuba native batted .307 with a .923 OPS, 70 hits, 34 RBIs, four home runs and 36 stolen bases in 61 games for the Salem Red Sox.

Moncada signed with the Red Sox in March 2015 with a contract that reportedly included a $31.5 million signing bonus. Baseball Prospectus ranked the second baseman as the No. 7 prospect in Major League Baseball this offseason.

Moncada joins another highly touted Red Sox prospect in Andrew Benintendi, who moved up to the Sea Dogs in May. Moncada is expected to report in Portland on Tuesday.
